The Impact of NHS single use facemasks during the COVID-19 pandemic
1 071 051 000 single use facemasks used by the NHS since the beginning of the pandemic alone.
Single-use masks are made of plastics like polypropylene, polyethylene, and vinyl which take more than 450 years to degrade.
Out of those, more than 25.000 tonnes of plastic end up in landfills and in the sea.

Every textile component of the product is enhanced with an exclusive formulation that includes the active agent Ammonium Chloride, conferring the following benefits:

Safety Characterstics
Wise Protec Anti-Viral coating does not interfere with the natural bio fauna on the skin nor does it include any heavy metals such as Silver, TBT, Formaldehyde, Triclosan, Arsenic.
It is certified as non-toxic for wastewater bacteria and is biodegradable (OECD 209 / 302B).
The active ingredient is registered and approved by EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and BPR (Biocidal Product Registration).
It is registered on the ECHA (European Chemical Agency) article 95 list as an approved and certified anti-microbial product and deemed safe for use in the European Union.
It is REACH approved and Öeko-tex Certified.

Washes and Durability
Our Anti-Viral technology is highly resistant to washing and certified to maintain > 99% efficiency after 50 washes at 60°C.
The bond created by the active ingredient and the fabric is robust and will not dissolve in water.
Other anti-bacterial agents work via poisoning whereas our active ingredient is not consumed by microbes and lasts significantly longer.

Splash and blood resistance
Furthermore, a splash and blood resistance treatment provides a strong, additional layer of protection.
One of the main means of aerial viral transport is through small water droplets or aerosols. The protective factor added to the masks allows the outer layer of the fabric to be used as a strong invisible repellent barrier, increasing the probability of harmful droplets being repelled preventing its attachment to the textile’s surface.
User movement or air friction is sufficient to repel any droplets that may be in contact with the textile substrate.
